Since 1985, DPI has awarded more than $120,000 to college and graduate students through its College Scholarship Program.

Applications must be RECEIVED at the specified address no later than 4:30 p.m. on May 1, 2020. Late, incomplete, or handwritten applications will not be considered.
Undergraduate Scholarship - One or more undergraduate scholarships with a minimum value of $1,500 will be available to residents of the Delmarva Peninsula who are undergraduate students at any accredited, degree-granting institution, with an academic major in a subject relevant to Delmarva's chicken industry and who are pursuing a career path leading to employment in any segment of Delmarva's chicken industry. The program also is open to high school seniors on the Delmarva Peninsula who have been accepted at any accredited, degree-granting institution and who are pursuing a career path leading to employment in any segment of Delmarva's chicken industry. Previous recipients, if still eligible, may reapply.
Emerson Morgan Graduate Scholarship - Graduate level scholarships with a minimum value of $1,500 will be available to graduate students who are engaged in research that directly benefits Delmarva's chicken industry. Previous recipients, if still eligible, may reapply. Selection is based on its own scoring and selection criteria with emphasis on relevance of applicant's research to Delmarva's chicken industry.
Eligibility - The applicant must be a student in good standing at an accredited institution within the United States or in the case of graduating high school seniors, accepted to an accredited institution within the United States. A complete transcript must accompany application and in the case of high school seniors, proof of college acceptance is required. Applicants must also request a letter of reference from an academic advisor or faculty member. The letter may be included with the application or the faculty member may email it to the DPI office (dpi@dpichicken.com) to arrive by the application deadline. Letters must be on school letterhead and must include the signature of the referring faculty member. DPI membership on the part of the applicant or his/her family is not required and has no effect on the selection process.
Selection - Scholarship recipients will be selected by a committee of representatives from Delmarva Poultry Industry, Inc.(DPI). Undergraduate applications will be evaluated using the following point system: Scholastic Record (20 pts), Essay Questions (40 pts), School/Community Activities & Awards (20 pts), Financial Need (5 pts), Faculty Reference (15 pts).

Scholarship Payment - Scholarship payment will be made to the financial aid office at the recipient's school.
